I am Monique and a French Canadian living in the U.S.
I’m married to an American man and live here, in Salt Lake City, with my two sons Azul and Jean Luc and our crazy Dalmatian puppy Perdita.
This is a site I have put together as a tool for others like me, who maybe have a family and need to work out how to put food on the table, whilst still being around for the kids.
My children are still only six and seven and it has been hard to find a traditional nine to five employer who wanted to take on someone with the extra domestic responsibilities that caring brings.
This is largely because my younger son, Jean Luc, has additional needs as a Down’s Syndrome child. But in actual fact, being a working mother to two young boys and being taken seriously by an employer is still very tough going.
Childcare for my younger boy has been pretty much unobtainable, which is crazy in this day and age, but may have proved to be the catalyst I needed in order to kick start my online career.
Since 2009 I have worked initially in a part time capacity around my babies but since they started school it has been gradually more full time.
The internet has literally changed my life in this respect as it means the difference between being able to make an income for myself and my family and not doing so.
But it hasn’t been all plain sailing and there are so many potential traps and pitfalls for the uninitiated to fall into, I thought they needed documenting, so I started this site.
I hope that by reading some of my advice and tips you can avoid making some of the mistakes that I did and that it is so easy for work-at-home mums to make!
Thank you for looking and enjoy my site!
